The performance of the yacht and crew is expected to be exceptional.

To ensure this standard JMS Ltd provides shore side assistance with experts on-hand 24-hours a day to provide assistance and advice to all our Captains and crews.

From our base in the South of France and through our partner in Florida, we provide a local service on both sides of the Atlantic.


JMS Ltd. Collaborates with the world’s best insurance providers to ensure owners benefit from very competitive premiums and coverage.

Whether hull and machinery or crew medical and liability, the JMS team negotiates on behalf of the owner for the most appropriate type of insurance cover.

Cover is also reviewed and tendered for annually to avoid the increased premiums that often results from continuously using the same underwriter every year.

Refit and Repair Planning Assistance

For captains and engineers wishing to manage their own refits, JMS Ltd will provide a structure to plan a refit or a large project and office-based assistance to enable the crew to monitor the progress, budget and quality of the project.

Should the owner / captain wish for JMS Ltd. to run the project, JMS Ltd provides a separate project management service for new build and refits as a separate service.

Refit Project Management

At the request of the Owner or Captain, JMS Ltd. can provide a quote to carry out the project management for a large refit / repair. On time and on budget is rarely an issue.

JMS will prepare the technical specification, tender to shipyards and contractors, negotiate shipyard agreements and oversee the refit monitoring time, quality and budget. Depending on the time required on the project, JMS Ltd can appoint a full-time or part time Project Manager to oversee all project work with an on-site engineer to supervise the project and control the schedule and budget spend.

The Project Manager reports to JMS Ltd. at all times to ensure the Owner’s requirements are being met.

Through our Refit and New Construction work we also enjoy regular contact with Manufacturers, Shipyards and Service Engineers all around the world to assist in identifying and recruiting the right person for the job.

Planned Maintenance

A planned maintenance system increases the safety and reliability of any yacht, significantly reducing the risk of Operational Performance failure.

To ensure the full team is prepared and drilled on all aspects of maintenance and safety, JMS Ltd. worksr with the Crew to set up planned maintenance procedures in accordance with Manufacturer’s Guidelines, Classification Society Regulations and Flag State requirements.

Our managers regularly visits the yacht to ensure she is maintained to the highest standards.

Technical Documentation Control

JMS Ltd. uses a system to provide access to records and essential technical documentation both to the crew and the team ashore.

JMS Ltd. can also file and record up-to-date records of all the technical documents, drawings and manuals of the yacht.

Purchasing and Shipment of Spares and Equipment

JMS Ltd. has a network of suppliers all over the world and benefits from volume discounts which are all passed on to the owner.

When purchasing replacement equipment for the yacht, minor items such as rope or more expensive engine parts, JMS Ltd. can locate and deliver as requested and at competitive prices.

Forwarding Services of Ships Mail and Packages

When vessels are changing moorings on a frequent basis, sometimes spending long periods away from shore, JMS Ltd. can collect and distribute all post, packages, documents and certificates on the Crew’s behalf.

Inventory Control Assistance

JMS Ltd. has a simple but effective system to help control and manage a yacht’s inventories.

Training can also be provided to the Crew to enable them to set up and supervise all aspects of the day-to-day running of the vessel.
