Meet Toby Jakeman
Meet the team – Toby Jakeman, Yacht Manager USA

We are pleased to introduce you to Toby Jakeman who has just joined our team in the USA as a Yacht Manager . With a Chief Mate 3000 GT and 200t Yachtmaster, 4 years’ experience in yacht construction, 10 years as yacht crew and 2 years in yacht management, Toby joins JMS USA with a wealth of experience and a passion for the maritime industry that began on the sunny coast of Brisbane, Australia.
Growing up near the ocean, Toby developed a deep love for the water early on. In his final year of high school, he embarked on a school-based apprenticeship in boat building, where he practised his skills and qualified as a tradesman.
Driven by a desire to explore the world, Toby moved to America and embarked on a career in the superyacht industry. Starting as a deckhand, he quickly climbed the ranks to become the First Officer on a 151-foot vessel. Over 10-years, Toby worked on various yachts, including private, charter, and expedition vessels. His longest voyage was a remarkable 42-day journey from the Bahamas through the Panama Canal to French Polynesia on a single-engine, single-screw vessel.
Toby’s transition back to land brings him to West Palm Beach, where he plans to start a family with his wife. His excitement for this new chapter is palpable as he joins JMS USA, eager to leverage his extensive knowledge and experience in managing your vessels.
