A yacht in operation provides a supreme excellence of service to it’s owner and guests. The performance of the yacht and the crew has to be exceptional, this is what is expected to be delivered. In order to ensure that the yacht and crew can deliver this exceptional service JMS Ltd provides shore side assistance. JMS Ltd has experts on-hand 24-hours a day to provide assistance and advice to all our Captains and crews. We are based in the South of France and through our partner in Florida we can provide a local service on both sides of the Atlantic for any New Build Supervision project.

Insurance

JMS Ltd. works with a large selection of the world’s very best providers it can help owners benefit from very competitive premiums and coverage. Whether it is for the hull and machinery or crew medical and liability, the JMS team negotiates with a network of professionals, on behalf of the owner, for the most appropriate type of insurance cover. Cover is also reviewed and tendered for annually to avoid the increased premiums staying with the same company each year can often result in.

Technical Documentation Control

JMS Ltd. is using a system that gives access to records and essential technical documentation both to the crew and the team ashore. JMS Ltd. can also file and record up-to-date records of all the technical documents, drawings and manuals for your vessel.

Bespoke ISM

In order for JMS provides a purpose made ISM manual for the yacht. Our ISM procedures allow us to work with the captain and implement only the procedures that are relevant to the yacht. Nothing is more annoying than completing a checklist that makes no sense. The JMS system allows you to implement the crew checklist. We also provide example checklists which the crew then can adapt throughout the New Build Supervision.

Yacht Certification

Certification is at the heart of compliance. JMS will monitor the certification of the yacht and assist where needed on any issues. With more and more legislation coming into force each year, it is becoming increasingly difficult for captains to stay familiar with all rules and regulations. JMS Ltd, will help to keep certificates up-to-date, assist the captain in preparing the yacht for surveys, organise and witness surveys and assist in conducting surveys.

ISPS Security Assessments & Audits

Based on global political and security developments in recent years, forecasts point toward an ever increasing need for everyone to be more security conscious. JMS Ltd. can make arrangements for one of our highly-trained team members to be in regular contact with the Captain, making him/herself available to discuss and offer assistance with any security concerns or issues that may arise. JMS Ltd. put into place an Annual Review and Management Audit to ensure all the security procedures and requirements have been covered during the New Build Supervision project. An outside team of experts re-examine the policies in place and any recommendation or modifications can be suggested to the Captain.

DPA

To ensure the safe operation of each yacht and to provide a link between the Crew and the highest levels of management, our DPA (Designated Person Ashore) is available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. The Designated Person Ashore takes ultimate responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel and ensures your vessel holds all of the necessary Certificates and operates in accordance with the law.

Bi Annual Onboard Audits

It is our view that managing safety is done on board of a yacht in a practical manner. Our experienced auditors will come on board for two (one day) visits per year. During the visit the ISM/ISPS system is discussed and audited. Where necessary JMS will help make adjustments.
